Our Story

Born out of a love for old, gently worn pieces, The Windmill Antiques came to life when Carol-ann van Jaarsveld started a country store filled with unique furniture and gift items in Graaff-Reinet in 1998.

A few years later, daughter in law, Amori, who shares her same sentiment for the aesthetic, took over the reins moving with the latest trends of slow living and artisanal craftsmanship. Keeping with the old but also looking into new trends, Amori saw the need for quality leather and handmade products and a new range of locally made items such as leather shoes, handbags, ties, ceramics, and jewelry got a special place in-store.

At the Windmill Junction, based in Graaff-Reinet, you will find an array of leather, linen, and gifts- all with a South African flavor along with beautiful and unique décor pieces.

Isaac, Cynthia, and Miro - the heartbeat of Windmill Junction. Together with the owner, Amori, they form the full management team of Windmill Junction.

Cynthia and Isaac have been part of the Windmill family since its inception in 1998 and are always available to assist walk-in and online customers with excellent, personal service. Miro joined the Windmill Junction in 2017 and is responsible as an assistant to Cynthia.

Cynthia is loved and known by all Windmill regulars as a caring, well-knowledged manager. With 22 years of experience, she is qualified to assist with any guidance and special requirements relating to our products & delivery.
